David Hunt
Abstract Artist

London born artist David Hunt has enjoyed painting from an early age and has more recently studied at Sutton College of Liberal Arts. He is inspired by nature and colour and the energy of the creative process. He likes to work with oils, pastels and chalk to produce a range of colourful abstract works. For many years David has battled with serious mental health problems and finds that art helps him relax and gives him a sense of freedom.

David says: 'Let the brush and canvas become part of your emotion. Take in all the colours around you and let what you do come from your heart: That's the journey of life. Colour should show your sensitivity. To be able to put colour down you need to be a bit excitable and emotional. Observe all the colours of nature and this becomes what you use. Absorb the energy of the colour. It's great to put all your emotions and feelings down and become a small part of the universe. Art is the interpretation of great sensitivity. It's about looking down on creation with the spirit of a higher level. And that's why I love Art. I think Art should be there to make the world a better place.'
