Gig-Arts is delighted to have hosted numerous themed art events at venues including the London Independent Hospital, St. Katharine Docks, the Imperial War Museum, the Baltic Exchange, the Lloyds Building and the London Guildhall.
Case Study: Celebrating a maritime theme, a Ships' Figurehead Festival was held onboard London's museum battleship HMS Belfast. The event marked the unveiling the ships' figurehead of Britannia, which was restored by Abbie Cooke and unveiled by Captain Warwick of the QM2. The Britannia figurehead is now back onboard Cunard's QE2 cruise ship, which is currently in Dubai.
The festival event also featured a display of ships' figureheads on the quarterdeck carved by Norman Gaches and Andy Peters, which drew media attention from GMTV and Sky News. In the ship's company dinning room the HMS Belfast ship's crest of a heraldic seahorse carved by Abbie Cooke was also on view and unveiled by TV personality Lloyd Grossman.
