Nancy Willis
Mixed-media Artist and Film-maker
London-based Nancy Willis is a leading visual artist in the disability arts world. Over the past 25 years she has exhibited regularly in venues such as the Whitechapel Art Gallery, Byam Shaw School of Art and the Diorama Art Gallery. As a teacher and workshop facilitator she has run art workshops in a wide range of community and health-care settings. She was artist in residence at the Hammersmith Hospital and at Byam Shaw School of Art.
For many years Nancy has explored themes of life and disability in her artwork. Through mixed-media works, sculpture, painting and printmaking she has sought outward forms of expression for her inner world. Her current practice is in Animation, creating time-based narratives from her paintings and prints. She has recently been filming a documentary for Channel 4 Television.
