Tony Malone
Painter and Designer
Tony Malone studied Fine Art at the University of Kent and Visual Communication and Design at the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester. His varied career ranges from being a creative director specialising in graphic design and community focused projects, through to advising the European Union on design and typography.
Tony is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in London. He has produced a book published by the Yale Press about how people respond to and use colour and is currently researching design and gender theory.
Tony is deaf and dyslexic and an active player in the field of diversity. In early 2008 he delivered a series of lectures on inclusive design at universities across the UK.
Tony says: "The aim of a lot of my painting work is to inspire, challenge or play with the viewer. More than being aesthetically pleasing, I feel my work should create more questions than answers, provoking the viewer to ask themselves for reaction or feelings."
