Toby Wilsher
Toby Wilsher's work as a writer and director has been seen in 31 different countries, at theatres as diverse as The National Theatre, Sydney Opera House and the Bejing Academy.
Toby Wilsher established Trestle Theatre Company in 1981 and created a body of work that received critical acclaim, world-wide touring and many awards over his 23 years tenure as Artistic Director, involved in writing, acting, designing, composing and directing the work that was seen in 31 countries and that played in some of the world's most prestigious venues, from the National in London to Sydney Opera House and Istanbul Cultural Centre. He collaborated with leading composers and conductors, as well as companies from the Ukraine, Holland and Australia. His first book on theatre was published in November 2006 by Routledge. He is now a freelance creator of theatre - his next project is writing and directing a show for the State Theatre of Istanbul in 2007.
He started training in the corporate sector in the early nineties, starting with Sainsbury's and Arts and Business. In 1997 he joined with Peter Stephens to become principal trainers for the WPP group's 'Sparklab' programme, working with many leading companies within the group such as JWT, Ogilvy, Landor, Mediaedge CIA, Enterprise IG, Hill and Knowlton, Research International, Wunderman, Prism and many more. Together they have trained in America, Europe and the Far East. Other clients include Red Door Comms, the Kings Fund, UK Film Council, Haygarth and Denlplan as well as running their own courses under their own company, 'BOP training'. He is also a certified practitioner of NLP, Hypnosis and TimeLine Therapy, and is establishing himself as a therapist.
